A300 crash at Bagram

An Airbus A300 cargo aircraft crash-landed at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.
March 9: The US Air Force has confirmed that an Airbus A300 cargo aircraft crash-landed at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan on March 1.
The aircraft, on charter to DHL International, was landing when an unsafe gear indicator alerted the crew. On landing the main landing gear collapsed and the aircraft slid to a stop between the runway and a taxiway.
Airmen from the 455th Expeditionary Maintenance Group removed the stricken A300 from the crash site with help from the 455th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, the US Army and members of other 455th EMXG flights. A 120-ton, civilian-contracted crane was used to raise the left wing of the aircraft, placing it on a 40-foot flatbed trailer. A mobile tactical truck pulled the aircraft away.
